A New Place to Meet Through Words

Dear Friends,

There are many ways people come into our lives.

Sometimes we meet through a journey. Sometimes through a festival, a conversation, or a simple act of kindness. And sometimes, we meet through a poem.

Today, I am happy to welcome you to my new website.

I have been thinking about what I would like this place to become. Of course, it is somewhere I can share my poems, publications, activities, and experiences. But I hope it will be something more than that.

I hope it will be a place where we can understand one another a little better.

The Small Things We Carry

I come from Vietnam, a country with its own beautiful traditions, language, history, and ways of life.

These things are part of who I am. They are also part of the way I see the world and the way I write.

I believe there is something meaningful in ordinary life. A conversation with a friend. A memory of home. The kindness of someone we have only just met. Even the quiet moments when we begin to understand something about ourselves.

Not everything important happens in a big moment.

Sometimes, the smallest experiences stay with us the longest.

And sometimes, they become poetry.

Different Languages, Shared Feelings

Through literature and cultural activities, I have had opportunities to meet people from different countries and backgrounds.

We may not speak the same language. We may have different customs, beliefs, and experiences. But when we share our stories, we often discover feelings that are familiar to us all.

I find this very beautiful.

I enjoy learning about other cultures, and I am always happy when I have an opportunity to share something about Vietnam.

For me, cultural exchange is not only about introducing our traditions to others. It is also about listening, respecting differences, and being willing to learn.

We do not need to be the same to appreciate one another.

Why I Wanted This Website

For some time, my poems, literary contributions, photographs, and experiences have been shared in different places.

Now, I am happy to have one place where friends and readers can find them more easily.

Here, I will share my writing, publications, literary events, and memories from the people and places I encounter.

You can visit my Poetry & Publications page to discover my work, or explore Events & Festivals to learn about my cultural and literary activities.

You can also learn more about me and follow the experiences I hope to share in future blog posts.

I know this website will continue to grow and change. I am still learning, and there will always be something new to discover.

That is part of the journey, too.

The People Along the Way

No creative journey belongs to only one person.

I am grateful to the friends, writers, poets, organizers, translators, publishers, and readers who have encouraged me and shared their experiences with me.

I also appreciate the creative support and collaboration of KVI Network Creations, which has helped bring this new literary home together.

Every person we meet can teach us something.

Sometimes we learn from their words. Sometimes from their actions. And sometimes simply from the way they see the world.

I hope to continue learning from the people I meet here.

Before You Leave

I would like to ask you something.

Have you ever read a poem, heard a story, or met someone from another culture who helped you see life differently?

I would be happy to hear about your experience.

You are welcome to explore my website, read my poems, and share your thoughts in the comments.

Thank you for visiting, whether we have known each other for many years or this is our first meeting.

I hope you find something here that speaks to you.

And perhaps, through a few simple words, we will come to know one another a little better.

With warm wishes,
Võ Thị Như Mai

Poetry brings us together, but it is understanding that helps us remain connected.

  1. Mai, what a beautiful and thoughtful welcome to your new literary home.

Your words remind us that poetry is more than an expression of personal feelings. It is also a way of understanding one another across languages, cultures, and experiences.

I especially appreciate your reflection that we do not need to be the same to appreciate one another. There is something important in that simple truth, particularly in a world where differences too often become barriers instead of opportunities to learn.

It has been a pleasure supporting the development of this space through KVI Network Creations. My hope is that it becomes more than a place to showcase your accomplishments. May it also encourage meaningful conversations, cultural exchange, and new creative relationships.

Congratulations, Mai. I look forward to seeing the stories, poetry, and connections that grow from here.
